Meet The Doctor
Dr. Erin Walker
Dr. Walker currently lives in Shreveport, but she is originally from Minden, where she graduated from Glenbrook School in 2000. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences from LSU in Baton Rouge, where she was a member of Kappa Delta Sorority and was a Batgirl for the LSU Baseball team. She completed her studies at the LSU School of Dentistry in New Orleans, earning a Doctorate of Dental Surgery in 2011.
Dr. Walker practiced dentistry in Dallas, Texas before deciding to return to Northwest Louisiana. She then enjoyed working as an associate dentist in Benton, LA for over 4 years. She is an active member of the Junior League of Shreveport-Bossier and works annually at the Minden St. Jude Auction, a 4-day event supporting the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Dr. Walker loves painting, traveling, playing tennis, and cheering on the LSU Tigers football and baseball teams. Geaux Tigers!

April Timmons, RDH
Dental Hygienist/Office Manager
April Timmons is our office manager and dental hygienist. April is married to Jeremy Timmons, and they make their
home in Sarepta, Louisiana, with their two children. April graduated from the University of Louisiana at Monroe in 2001 with a Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene. She brings many years of clinical experience with her. April is active in her church and community. When she is not chasing her kids around, watching them cheer and play ball, April enjoys writing and photography. She has enjoyed meeting all of the new faces in the office, and she looks forward to building relationships with all of our patients.
Jennifer McDearmont, EDDA
Dental Assistant
We’re so lucky to have Jennifer, who has been working as a dental assistant since 1999. She was born in Shreveport and is a
graduate of Southwood High School. In 1999, Jennifer received her Dental Assistant certification at the Caddo Career Technology Center. She then went on to attain her Expanded Duty Dental Assistant certification at the University of Louisiana at Monroe in 2002. Having her EDDA gives her the opportunity to perform a number of clinical procedures for our patients. She is married with three children, all teenagers. When she isn’t at the office, she feels like a full-time chauffeur. She loves to dance and play volleyball. On special occasions, she likes to sing. We’re very lucky to have Jennifer as part of our team!
Layla King, RDH
Dental Hygienist
Layla King is our lead dental hygienist. Layla was born and raised in Shreveport. She enjoys cooking, boating with her family
and friends, and spending time with her 16-year-old Dachshund named Skooter. She is a member of The Simple Church, where she is very active in the children’s ministry. Layla’s grandfather, Dr. Harold King, was a local dentist for many years. His legacy inspired her to become a dental hygienist. Layla graduated from Bossier Parish Community College with an Associate of Business degree in 2005 and from Southern University in Shreveport with a Bachelor of Science degree in 2009. Layla is a familiar face in our practice. Her patients love her gentle touch, and she looks forward to bringing them the best dental care in the years to come.
History of the Office
Dr. Chris Erickson spent over 30 years establishing this family practice in Shreveport. As he was nearing retirement, Dr. Erickson wanted to leave his practice in the hands of a dentist with a similar dental philosophy as his own. Dr. Walker and Dr. Erickson both have conservative approaches to dentistry and prefer to take the least invasive routes when treatment planning. Dr. Walker took the helm in November of 2016, and Dr. Erickson is thoroughly enjoying retirement!
